Support Request: Can't print from Sitekiosk browser

Reproduction

Before I was able to print from SiteKiosk browser, but was not able to print from Windows apps running within SiteKiosk; print jobs started by Windows apps will only start after SiteKiosk is closed. Following instructions from tech support, I installed the network printer as instructed on SiteKiosk (network pinter was setup as local TCP/IP port printer with the IP address). That worked for the Windows apps to print within SiteKiosk, but now, I am unable to print from the SiteKiosk Browser; the network printer will not even show up in the SiteKiosk print dialog. What do I have to do in order to make both Windows apps and the SiteKiosk Browser print on the netwok printer?

Hello,

Does it work in “Run once” mode?

You should start the System-Security-Manager and set it to “Unprotected” and then to “Protected” again, to make sure that the printer changes will be applied to the restricted SiteKiosk user account.

It does the same thing in "Run once mode" and I'm running it from an Administrator's account on WinXP; print does not start until I close SiteKiosk.
Also, I can't find "System-Security-Manager." Where can I find that?

Hello,

The System-Security-Manager is installed with SiteKiosk and you can find the application under -->Start-->Programs-->SiteKiosk.

But as it also doesn’t work in “Run once” mode and it does print if you close SiteKiosk it seems that you haven’t installed the printer like described in the SiteKiosk help (-->Management-->Print-->Setup Printer).

If for example the printer is provided through one PC in the network please alos note this section:
On the server (the computer to which the printer is connected)
1. Make sure to set the simulated Local Port network printer as the default Windows printer.
2. Open the SiteKiosk configuration file on this computer, and turn off printer monitoring for the non-simulated printer (the "real" printer). However, leave printer monitoring enabled for "All installed printers."
To do so, open the SiteKiosk configuration file and add and edit this printer as a standalone printer. Click on Add and select the "real" printer. Now, select this printer and click on Edit. Uncheck the option "Monitor printer and make available through SiteKiosk Object Model".

Then check in “Run once” mode. In case it works start the System-Security-Manager and set it to “Unprotected” and then to “Protected” again, to make sure that the printer changes will be applied to the restricted SiteKiosk user account.
